In 1997 undisturbed, naturally pure and precious water was found near Kranskop in the heart of KwaZulu Natal. When tested, the spring water was discovered to be of superior quality. It had to be bottled! In 1998 aQuellé burst into the market launching a still and sparkling variant and four typically South African flavoures – Naartjie, Litchi, Marula and Honey Melon. aQuellé was the first brand to bring a flavoured range to the mass market. As popularity grew, zesty lemon was added to the range, as well as two 'Lite' variants – Peach and Youngberry. In 2004, the unique and dynamic aQuellé bottle was launched, featuring a matching different coloured cap for each flavour. Due to further customer demand, another exciting new flavour was launched in April 2008 - Strawberry!
